We know how expensive it is to go to college, and so we created our scholarship to help students offset these costs. Whether it is through our continuing legal education for attorneys or student scholarships, we are privileged to do our part to help the leaders of tomorrow.

Entry Guidelines for the 15th Annual 2025 Scales of Justice Scholarship

Despite Georgia being ranked as the top state for businesses, the Governor has stated that he is pushing tort reform measures this year to help insurance companies with costs. One of the measures that the Governor wants passed is limitations on the ability of victims assaulted by a third-party criminal to sue a property owner for failing to provide adequate protections and security on their property.

To participate in this year’s Scales of Justice Scholarship contest, write an essay discussing the pros and cons of holding property owners and businesses responsible for protecting people on their property from the criminal acts of third parties, discuss any possible limitations that could be made on the ability to bring negligent security claims against property owners and argue for or against making these limitations part of Georgia law.
