Drivers’ education is important to the safety of yourself and other motorists on the road. It is also important to know of any changes in the law as it relates to driving. Drivers’ ed is not limited to teenage drivers being licensed for the first time. The completion of a drivers’ ed program may be required if you are:
- a new Georgia resident
- a non-citizen who holds a valid foreign driver’s license
- a moving violation offender who wishes to have your ticket dismissed
There are several state programs to choose from with benefits that help protect your driving record and insurance rates, in addition to improving driver safety. In our 50 years of combined experience as attorneys dedicated to helping victims of truck accidents, we have seen the serious effects that accident-related injuries can cause. Our attorneys are interested in preserving the safety of all drivers on the road.
Recommended Traffic Schools in Atlanta
The three driving schools discussed below hold accreditations and certificate programs for proof of driver education completion. While this is not a comprehensive list of all the best drivers’ ed classes and programs in Atlanta, they all provide convenient area locations and detailed information about class participation.
A-1 Driving School, Inc. offers a six-hour defensive driving program with certification from the Georgia Department of Driver’s Services for drivers who wish to protect their driving record from point accrual. There are 16 locations citywide with two schedules available for registrants. Successful completion of this course also results in a $150 tax credit from the state of Georgia.
Defensive driving classes, risk-reduction classes and teenage drivers’ ed programs are available through Nathan’s Driving School, Inc., which serves the entire Atlanta metropolitan area. Like the other traffic schools listed, Nathan’s will pick up and drop off at the student’s school or home. Class times range from two hours to 40 hours, depending on what specific qualifications are required.
A two-hour minimum drive time is necessary when taking courses from Best Driving School in Atlanta. The classes are mainly geared toward new drivers who need a certain amount of behind-the-wheel experience before becoming licensed. In addition to the tax credit, completion of the drivers’ ed program results in a 10 percent mandatory insurance reduction for three years under Georgia law.
Protecting Our Clients
Drivers’ education can help benefit motorists when it comes to their driving privileges and insurance costs, but the main priority is to ensure the safety of those on the road and uphold the laws put into place to protect that. Without it, accidents happen more frequently.
